Free Zwift RunPod for British Triathlon members

Zwift becomes ‘Official Training Community of British Triathlon’

The continued growth of online training platform Zwift into the world of triathlon continues, with news today of an official partnership with British Triathlon.

The full, initial details of that are provided below in today’s press release from the governing body – one benefit of which is that British Triathlon members can claim a free Zwift RunPod to allow you to use Zwift for running on a treadmill, as part of the membership benefits package.

Partnership will include exclusive training plans and benefits with the online training platform for British Triathlon Home Nation members

Zwift, the online training platform for triathletes, cyclists and runners, has agreed a partnership with British Triathlon. The deal sees Zwift become the Official Training Community of British Triathlon and brings additional benefits to British Triathlon Home Nation members.

British Triathlon Home Nation members who subscribe to Zwift will be able to claim a free Zwift RunPod. Zwift RunPods allow you to use any treadmill, whether at home or at the gym, with Zwift. The Zwift RunPod simply clicks onto the laces of your shoes and calculates speed based on your stride length and cadence. This is then relayed to the game via Bluetooth and powers your avatar across the roads of Watopia, London, New York, Innsbruck and Richmond. This offer is open to all British Triathlon Home Nation members, including those who are already subscribed to Zwift.

“Running on Zwift may be new, but it’s growing fast.” says Zwift CEO and Co-Founder, Eric Min. “We’ve seen many triathletes come across as the early adopters, largely I think, because indoor training makes complete sense for triathletes. It’s both extremely efficient when it comes to time management, and it’s a highly effective way to undertake controlled structured training sessions. Zwift not only has a wealth of structured training sessions ready to go, but it makes those sessions more enjoyable. Who says quality training can’t be fun?”

In addition to the Zwift RunPods, British Triathlon Home Nation Members will also benefit from a wealth of exclusive Zwift content. Triathlon-focused training plans, fully sanctioned by British Triathlon coaches, will be made available in game over the coming months. Members will also get access to an exclusive member kit, British Triathlon group rides and runs and a series of group workouts designed specifically for triathletes.

“I’m excited to see the terrific value Zwift is going to be bringing to the British Triathlon membership community.” says Andy Salmon, British Triathlon CEO. “Technology is ever-improving and bringing with it new ways of training. We’ve seen more and more people incorporating Zwift into their triathlon training, both on a professional and amateur level, so I’m confident that our members will benefit greatly and see the partnership positively impact their journeys within the sport.”

To mark the launch of the partnership, Zwift members will be able to access two British Triathlon Group Rides on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 February, led respectively by ITU Paratriathlon World bronze medallist, George Peasgood and IRONMAN World Record holder, Tim Don. To ride with George, visit https://zwift.com/events/view/149368 and to join Tim, visit https://zwift.com/events/view/149367.

British Triathlon Home Nation members will be able to redeem all their Zwift member benefits, including their free RunPod, from within their member portal on the British Triathlon website https://www.britishtriathlon.org/my-account/member-benefits/discounts
