Who is racing at IRONMAN Switzerland?
Of course we know there will be no Alistair Brownlee this weekend – he could now head to Lake Placid in his bid to clinch a spot at the IRONMAN World Championship in Nice.
The big names who are involved include talented Swede Patrik Nilsson, Germany’s Maurice Clavel and home favourites Jan Van Berkel and Andrea Salvisberg. Sunday’s race has only a pro field for the men.
Why is IRONMAN Switzerland important?
Prize money aside, of course this is one of the final opportunities for athletes to claim those all-important slots for the IRONMAN World Championship in Nice. There are two on offer here in the race for pro men.
In terms of prize money, the winner picks up $15,000 and there is cash available down to 10th position.
