50 days until the Accenture Mixed Team Challenge brings triathlon mixed relay to Canary Wharf

Today (17 July 2018) marks 50 days to go until the Accenture Mixed Team Challenge Canary Wharf, an exclusive triathlon event taking place in London, Canary Wharf on Wednesday 5 September 2018.

This innovative triathlon event is a unique opportunity for the competitive sporting types to compete in the elite mixed relay format ahead of its inaugural debut at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. 50 Mixed gender teams of four, 2 men and 2 women, will race through the Canary Wharf estate, completing a 300m swim in Middle Dock, 6km static bike ride on Jubilee Plaza and 1.5km traffic-free run on Bank Street before a finish to remember.

In this exciting relay format, each team member will complete the full triathlon before tagging their team mate to do the same – nothing beats working together! A live DJ will provide an electric atmosphere for fans and the teams as they battle it out to become the Accenture Mixed Team Challenge Canary Wharf champions.

Once finished, teams can meet some of British Triathlon’s top talent and celebrate their performance in a premium VIP hospitality experience at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf.

Julian Skan, Senior Managing Director at Accenture said: “As Title Partner of Mixed Relay, we are delighted to have created an exciting, unique event that offers the opportunity to race competitively in the innovative Mixed Relay format.”

Andy Salmon, British Triathlon Chief Executive added: “The Accenture Mixed Team Challenge Canary Wharf is a fantastic opportunity to race the elite triathlon mixed relay format with your colleagues in a world-famous location like Canary Wharf. With just 50 days to go, I can’t wait to see one of the country’s most well-known locations come to life with triathlon.”
