The Biggest Cycling Show in the UK Starts Tomorrow

The Cycle Show welcomes Sir Chris Hoy, the winning bike from the Tour de France and the best bikes on the market

Held at the NEC, Birmingham, from tomorrow until Sunday, The Cycle Show (www.cycleshow.co.uk) will treat nearly 30,000 visitors to inspirational talks, interactive experiences from some of the biggest brands in cycling and the chance to test an array of the best bikes and equipment on the market.

The highlight of the weekend is undoubtedly the presence of Sir Chris Hoy, six-time Olympic champion and the second most decorated Olympic cyclist of all time. Olympian, business owner, author, mental health advocate, motivational speaker and family man – Sir Chris Hoy will talk through his truly inspirational story tomorrow at 12:30pm at V12 Retail Finance Stage.

He will be joined by “The Lion of Flanders” Johan Museeuw, widely considered to be one of the world’s most outstanding cobbled classics riders, Graeme Obree, a pioneer in world cycling and subject of the 2006 film The Flying Scotsman, and a whole host of other cycling legends.

Another cause for excitement at the show will be the display of this very same bike that was used by Egan Bernal on the final day of his historic Tour de France victory. Visitors can check out the bike that helped Bernal make history as the youngest ever winner, a bike which Pinarello claims has a frameset that is 100g lighter than standard road bikes.

The Cycle Show

There will also be some of the latest innovations in the electric bike industry, including the Ribble Endurance SL e, part of the world’s lightest electric-assisted endurance range, the Gocycle GX, designed to be folded away in less than ten seconds, and newly launched products from Bosch eBike Systems, Genesis and Calibre Bikes.

“We have worked really hard this year to provide an incredibly diverse range of speakers to listen to and bikes for our attendees to test out,” said Karen Dodd,  Marketing Manager for The Cycle Show. “There will also be a fantastic number of brands offering advice and insight that will be useful for all visitors.”

The Cycle Show

The show also has loads of fun interactive activity for kids, including a kids track for kids to test out a number of bikes, brands like Little Rider Co and Kiddimoto that have ranges of bikes, helmets and jerseys designed specifically for children, and loads more! This will certainly provide hours of entertainment for the little ones.

And if that hasn’t convinced you, the show has this year partnered with Stroud Brewery, which will be the Official Beer Sponsor of the show and the sponsor of its Handle Bar, boosting what is already a fun, convivial and lively atmosphere!

The Cycle Show

Bike lovers looking for a VIP experience can buy VIP tickets to the show that grant them a host of benefits, including fast-track entry, priority test track booking, meet and greet opportunities with professional riders and exclusive access to the VIP Lounge, supported by Cycling Plus magazine.

The 2019 Cycle Show promises to be a great day out packed with fun and innovative activities for the whole family. To get your tickets for what is shaping up to be a very special event, head over to www.cycleshow.co.uk.
