Redefining Triathlon For Every Athlete

Eight years in and Dengie Events are still going strong with their unique triathlons in idyllic Essex countryside locations. The 2018 calendar is already released and entries are coming in for their three triathlons. With Sprint to Middle distance races, there really is something for all triathletes, first-timers to seasoned-pros.

The Big East Triathlon kicks off the Dengie Events calendar on Sunday 13 May 2018 in Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex. This event is early in the race calendar and is a perfect training event for anyone taking part in a larger triathlon in the summer or just preparation for the season ahead. The event gives entrants a choice of Challenge Distance (800m swim/43km cycle/10km run) or Middle Distance (1.6km swim/82km cycle/20km run).

The Fambridge Yacht Haven Triathlon takes place on Sunday 8 July 2018 in North Fambridge, Essex. This welcoming and friendly Middle distance event sees entrants take on a 1.9km river swim, followed by a 90km cycle in the peaceful Essex Dengie Peninsula countryside through small villages and with coastal views. Then an 18km run around North Fambridge village with plenty of opportunities for spectators to provide encouragement, creating a great atmosphere.

The season closes with the ever-popular Maldon Triathlon which takes place on Sunday 22 July 2018 in the beautiful Promenade Park and Hythe Quay in Maldon, Essex. The rooftops of the historic town of Maldon and the large sailing barges offer the perfect and unique backdrop for a triathlon. The event offers numerous opportunities for spectators to watch and cheer on the triathletes and is perfect for first time competitors or seasoned pros alike. This is a fun, energetic event with competitors returning yearly to enjoy the occasion. The beginner friendly course offers two distances, Sprint (750m swim/28km cycle/5km run) and Olympic (1.5km swim/45km cycle/10km run).

All triathlons are open to individual athletes and relay teams. For more information and to enter the events visit www.dengieevents.co.uk
