From Birmingham to London – with a new Triathlon Zone added
Like pretty much every major event, the 2020 edition of The Cycle Show was cancelled due to Covid-19. It’s all-change next year, as the show will return to London – and triathlon will have a dedicated zone too.
The Cycle Show returns to London for 2021 alongside London eBike Festival at Alexandra Palace

The Cycle Show, the UK’s biggest and longest-running bicycle exhibition, is returning to London after nine years at the NEC, Birmingham. The show moves to one of the UK’s most iconic venues, Alexandra Palace alongside the inaugural London eBike Festival from the 16 – 18 April 2021. New for next year, the exciting celebration of cycling will also feature a new triathlon area showcasing the best brands and names from the Tri industry.
Director of the two shows, Nicola Meadows said: “The launch of London eBike Festival and the 2020 edition of the Cycle Show were both cancelled due to Covid-19, however, the break in the event calendar has given us an opportunity to reimagine the events. This will enable us to deliver an incredibly exciting new format utilising the excellent outdoor space offered by Alexandra Palace, as well as providing the perfect environment to showcase the best brands in the industry.”
The venue has 11,000 sqm of superb exhibition space to showcase the latest bikes, kit and accessories. Then on the hills outside the venue, visitors will find a demo village with a huge range of new bikes to test ride. Alexandra Palace’s 196 acres of parkland will serve as the perfect demo arena with more than four miles of tarmac and woodland trails where show visitors will get to try out everything from folding bikes to e-gravel bikes.
Alexandra Palace is no stranger to cycling festivals having played host to events from Red Bull’s Empire of Dirt to the Rapha Supercross, and the show organisers will be enlisting the MTB-specialist help of Si Paton and Kye Forte to create the dedicated off-road test circuit and an MTB dual slalom course is also in the pipeline.
Since its launch in 2002, the Cycle Show has hosted many of cycling’s biggest stars from road cycling heroes Eddy Merckx and Geraint Thomas, GB track superstar Sir Chris Hoy and dominant MTB siblings the Athertons. The new show will continue this trend, promising a stellar line-up of talent over three days. There’ll be a family-friendly vibe with balance bike racing, MTB skills sessions for young riders, plus advice on everything from riding safely in the city to choosing the perfect cycling holiday.
For the first time in its history the show will also host a dedicated triathlon area hosting the best from the world of tri, including 1-1 pool sessions, talks with coaches, nutritionists and athletes, plus the latest bikes, equipment and more.

The events are already well supported by leading brands and will see the UK’s largest selection of e-bikes and traditional cycles at any event in 2021. Exhibitors already confirmed to attend include: Bosch e-Bike Systems, Trek, Lezyne, Specialized, Canyon, Ribble, Raleigh, Lapierre, Haibike, Kinesis, Cannondale, Riese & Muller, VanMoof, Surly and GoCycle amongst others.
